John Richmond

An English fashion designer based in Italy "Designed & Executed at Iran Mall"

Description

The project designed by an internationally known firm called BE.ST Architects based in Italy that has been collaborated with John Richmond for more than a decade.

John Richmond was founded by the eponymous designer in London in the 1980s and boosted its name due to its punk-rock style in fashion. The brand’s owners are planning to extend their retail footprints by opening more and more mono brand stores particularly in the developing countries all over the world.
One of their most previous projects that has launched recently in the Iranian capital, Tehran was designed by an internationally known firm called BE.ST Architects based in Italy that has been collaborated with John Richmond for more than a decade. The unique concept of this boutique depicts the extravagance of emptiness with a vintage essence of the trademark to give shape to the brand identity although some of the minimalist-chic interior design elements contradicts the punk-rock characteristics of the brand somehow. This combination of luxury and rock is improved by blending monochrome textile patterns and wallpapers with stainless steel and painted raw MDF walls. The space is completely expanded, and the furniture makes a circulation pattern as in an exhibition hall experience. Every sole element in the shop is designed by Stefano Belingardi and drafted and eventually manufactured by FIDAR Co. The gross store area exceeds 350 square metres. The gross store area exceeds 350 square meters. Designing the details of the whole facade and its gigantic entrance window boxes with 4.5 meters height and about 2 meters width presents a significant challenge for us in terms of safety and other technical matters. According to the architect’s demands, we were unallowed to implement any visible fitting in our design so, we had to come up with an innovative solution to conceal all the joint accessories.
